transform

Usage

transform [ ortho | spherical ]

Details

Apply orthographical or spherical transformation to the selected points.

The transform command is often used together with normalize before exporting to X3D format for 3D visualization.

The ortho transform will project the GPS track to a flat horizontal plane. The X/Y coordinates of the plane will correspond the latitude and the longitude. The Z-coordinate of each point will correspond to the elevation of the point. Typically before exporting to X3D format you should follow an ortho transformation with a normalize command.

The spherical transform will transform the Latitude/Longitude/Elevation coordinates from a track to a sphere in X/Y/Z coordinates. This data can be exported to X3D format directly, without normalization.
