This is a simulation of a Niven Ring. A Niven Ring is unstable - you can change the parameters to observe various failure modes of the ring.
The ring is modelled as a chain of masses connected with springs. You can control the orbital velocity (rotation speed), the number of points (masses), add some harmonic and random noise, play with the stiffness and breaking force of the springs.
