Here are some sketches of deep-sky targets:
Solar spots, Oct 25 2003
Those are my first experiments in solar photography. Just a few daysafter the photos were taken, the 10486 spot (right) blasted off a
few extremely powerful flares - a X17.2 (Oct 28), a X10.0 (Oct 29),
and the biggest flare in record - a X28 on Nov 4 2003.

Seeing was bad and Mars was pretty low above the horizon, butSyrtis Major and the south polar cap (south is up at the image)
are visible.

The picture was taken some time after totality.(8" EQ reflector, afocal with Canon PowerShot A40 camera)
